HND FURNITURE
This course specializes in the design process and construction methods used to manufacture high end furniture and products. Research, development, experimentation is, key as part of the workshop projects. HND second year offers the learner a chance to master their skills in, industry studies, wood machining, shaped work, reproduction, Portfolio building and much more.
A fantastic course for the thinkers and the practically minded. The Final year students did excellent to finish off and recreate new work this year, all were responding to the reproduction unit, where they recreated a piece of work from the past. All produced new pieces, also, designed and constructed from scratch.

Designed for any hallway. Constructed in Ash, stencilled and hand painted.
Chair Project.
Designed as a nursing chair, short low and comfortable, upholstered using modern methods of construction
Reproduction Piece.
Occasional table - originally design and made by architect Baillie Scott in 1901. Constructed in oak with mortice and tenons the style was very much in the spirit of the British Arts and Crafts movement.

Robin Cameron
Chair Project.
Designed and constructed in Beech timber and upholstered using modern methods of construction, this piece is inspired by the cantilever construction method.
Reproduction Piece.
Originally designed and made by Robby Cuthbert in 2012. Constructed in laminated Constructional Beech veneer to form four floating āSā like shapes which mingle around each other but not touching. The floating concept is tied together using cables and tensional integrity, or floating compression.
